Mixing flesh tone on the palette gives you an even, dead colour. Laid next to each other on the canvas, a warm and a cool stay alive and the viewer's eye blends them at normal viewing distance.

Painted in acrylic, so every correction stays visible under the surface. Two passes here, no more; a third would have turned the face into a repaired object.
